It has been almost a decade since the closure of The Shark Club, however nobody in Phuket has forgotten the iconic nightclub that once dominated Patong's nightlife scene. Since 2002, there have been many new nightclubs come and go in Patong
Beach, and none have enjoyed success at the same level as The Shark Club. New clubs like Seduction and Hollywood have been the flavor of the
month when they opened, however they have failed to stand the test of time.
The Shark Club opened in the mid 1990s, and quickly established itself as the best nightclub in town. One of the things that separated The Shark Club from other clubs in Patong
Beach was that there was a far more favourable ratio of women to men. While all the other clubs in town charged an admission fee, The Shark Club allowed Thai girls free admission. The result was that on any given
night, the club would be filled with Patong's most attractive women and freelance bar girls.

The owner of The Shark Club was well known to the people of Patong Beach during his stay in Phuket. He was not only the most successful club owner in town, he was also one of the most popular. The staff at the Shark Club were quite close to Kevin, and many people who worked for him have said that he was also a close friend. His close relationship with his staff as well as the people that came to his club on a regular basis was undoubtedly part of what made the club such a success.
Kevin always made his staff feel like they were part of his family, and they always respected him for that. This is something he is also hoping to achieve in his new club that is set to open in 2012. After many years away from the nightclub business, Kevin Radke has decided to go back to what he knows best. Those people who know and remember Kevin and his old club will be happy to hear the news that he is opening a new nightclub.
The Shark Club Brazil
The new Shark Club is set to open in Sao Paulo, Brazil near the end of 2012. The new club will be opening under the same name, with the same ownership and expectations are that they will capture the same magic that made the original Shark Club such an international success. I love the Shark Club, definatetly the best disco in Patong, too bad it got closed down! I wish I could go to Brazil to see the new Shark Club. I will signup for the lucky draw and hope for the best.
I have to say that I think exactly as Tukta. There was nothing that could compare to the Shark Club, and since it closed there has been nothing even come close. I will be trying to make my way to Brazil. I really have to see the new Shark Club. I must compliment the owner, he sure knows how to pick the exotic locations for the club.

I know there is a lot of excitement about the new club, I also hope I can get down there for the Grand Opening. I certainly want to be there for the World Cup in 2014. I hope to see you there!
10 years later, people still talk about it. Why did it close?
Willy, the Shark Club was an iconic club that literally dominated the nightlife scene in Phuket. Everyone went to The Shark Club, the place was full every single night. All the girls from the beer bars around Patong would go there after work. The Shark Club was getting all the business and many rival bar owners became jealous.
They payed local thugs and officials to cause problems for the club, and finally the Thaksin government came in and accused the owner of hosting live sex shows, and while these types of shows are everywhere you look in Patong, they certainly weren't happening at The Shark Club.
The club was closed and the government literally stole the place from it's original owner, then they placed their own man in charge and reopened it a few months later. The bar girls that were loyal to the former owner refused to go there.. and the place failed and closed after only a few months.
